What's new in Animux (Genesis) Stable?

With Animux Genesis Stable release,the liveCD/liveUSB let's you automatically set up a renderfarm without you have to do anything. In addition to the automated renderfarm setup we did a bunch of bug fixes from Animux (codename: Genesis) RC1.

Application upgrade

 1. Gimp 2.6.4 to Gimp 2.6.6 with Gimp GAP/Gimp Painter
 2. Lux  renderer 0.1 to 0.6RC1
 3. Compiz 0.6 to 0.7.9
 4. Avant-Window-Navigator

Whats new in Animux (Genesis) RC1?

In addition to a bunch of bugs fixed in the release candidate of Animux version 1 (codename: Genesis). We have included the a few new applications and upgrade some critical ones.

New Applications

 1. MakeHuman 0.9.1 RC1
 2. Handbrake 0.9.3
 3. Voodoo Motion Capture software
 4. Gimp-Painter

Core Upgraded Applications

 1. Blender 2.46 to Blender 2.48a with Verse
 2. Gimp 2.4 to Gimp 2.6.4 with the Gimp-Painter patch

Animator Centric Applications

 1. 8 Renderers (Aqsis, Lucille, Lux, Pbrt, indigo, Sunflow, Yafray ) included
 2. Pixie renderman complaint renderer upgraded
 3. MakeHuman exports models in collada that can imported into blender
 4. Handbrake helps converting your digital assets to ipod and other portable formats.
 5. Latest version of Blender, Gimp, Cinelerra and other tools 
 6. Inludes 3 renderfarm managers, 3 personal digital asset managers 
 7. plenty of other features that are useful to your animation project ..... 

Functionality

 1. Kernel modules included to determine the hardware health of the machine/rendernodes
