Installing Animux is as easy as clicking an icon. Animux comes with an autoinstaller (autoinstall icon) and an installer (installer icon). The autoinstaller has some preconfigured hard drive partition settings and default user 'animux' set up.  The manual installer let's the user pick the hard disk partition according to their need.

Here is a closer look of the desktop icons.

Auto Installer

In order to launch the animux autoinstaller double click on the "autoinstall" icon on the desktop. This will launch the auto installer dialog box for animux. The animux autoinstaller will partition your hard disk and install animux on it. It creates the user animux with a password animux who can also sudo into root.  It sets the root password to animux too.  To help you pick Animux from your boot menu, enter a "Title" in the text box just above "Apply" and "Quit" button. For eg. "Animux 32Bit Auto Install" would be a good enough title.

Nothing is installed unless you click on the "Apply" button. [PLEASE MAKE SURE YOUR HARDDISK IS BACKED UP AND CAN BE RESTORED BEFORE YOU IT APPLY. YOU WILL LOSE EVERYTHING ON IT ONCE YOU HIT "APPLY".]

Once you have booted into animux on your hard disk, make sure you change the root password and animux user password to something secure. If you do not change it, it possess a big security risk.

Manual Installer

In order to launch the animux manual installer double click on the "install" icon on the desktop. This will launch the manual installer dialog box for animux. The manual installer let's you enter the root password and create multiple user accounts.

To partition the harddisk to the way you want, click on the "Partition Tools" menu from the menu bar. You are provided with a "Graphical Partition Tool" and "Text Partition Tool".

Picking the "Graphical Partition Tool" gives brings up GParted, which will be used to partition your hard disk along with the filesystem type to your liking.  [PLEASE MAKE SURE YOUR HARDDISK IS BACKED UP AND CAN BE RESTORED BEFORE YOU IT APPLY. YOU WILL LOSE EVERYTHING ON IT ONCE YOU HIT "APPLY ALL OPERATIONS".]

Picking the "Text Partition Tool" option brings up CFdisk command prompt tool. Using this you can make the same changes you can do with GParted. [PLEASE MAKE SURE YOUR HARDDISK IS BACKED UP AND CAN BE RESTORED BEFORE YOU IT APPLY. YOU WILL LOSE EVERYTHING ON IT ONCE YOU "WRITE OUT YOUR NEW PARTITION TABLE".]

Once you have partitioned your harddisk and decided where you want animux to be installed, pick from the "Detected *nix partitions"  and move them to the "selected partitions" with all the required information as shown in the figure.

Hit Apply. Wait for the installer to finish installing and reboot to Animux.
